Values

/val.ues/

n.noun

Values are an individual's personal standards they choose to live by. By setting high personal values or standards, an individual is able to live a life or productivity and abstain from negative behaviors. Core values such as, integrity, hard work, and diligence are all standards a productive and proactive person implements in their life. Whether these values stem from one's desire to live a successful lifestyle, or perhaps standards stemming from an individual's religious beliefs ( such as the ten commandments, Jesus' teachings etc.) having high, personal standards is essential.

Unfortunately, troubled adolescents fail to live a life of high values. A troubled adolescent tends to prioritize their values based on their personal interests. These interests are often times negative ones such as, negative relationships, bad habits, and instant gratification. For this reason, it is imperative for troubled adolescents to implement higher standards for themselves, in order to truly reach their full potential.
