Amy brings dedicated experience supporting adolescents through a holistic and compassionate approach that empowers teens and families to overcome adversity and build lasting resilience. Her professional background is rooted in a deep understanding of the complexities of the teenage experience, having taught mindfulness, executive functioning, and suicide prevention. Amy is particularly passionate about advocacy and support; she created and ran innovative programs in a junior high setting specifically designed to support students who might otherwise fall through the cracks, fostering an
environment where every student can thrive.
In her clinical practice within residential treatment, Amy specializes in navigating complex emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs, including trauma, family conflict, ASD, anxiety, ADHD, and depression. She also brings extensive expertise in supporting youth dealing with chronic illness and chronic pain. Her commitment to this population extends beyond the therapy room; she served for several years as a Platinum Ambassador with the Arthritis Foundation, advocating for those with juvenile arthritis at both the state and federal levels. Amy's dedication to crisis intervention is further evidenced by her significant volunteer work on both crisis and domestic violence hotlines. Amy's therapeutic approach is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. She focuses on helping clients untangle negative beliefs while building practical, evidence-based tools to foster real-life change. She is dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive space where adolescents feel truly understood and empowered to find their voice and rediscover their worth.
Outside of her professional work, Amy finds balance and joy in her personal life. She loves spending quality time with her daughters, reading, cooking, and creating flower gardens. An enthusiast of the outdoors, she frequently spends time in nature and enjoys the company of her cats, dog, and various foster animals.
