Barkley
Sue's Dog
Campus Furry Face
Barkley has been charming his way through campus halls for about a year and a half, though he's been stealing hearts long before that. At roughly 3½ years old (he’s a rescue, so the exact number’s a mystery), this happy boy has found his calling spreading joy, comfort, and a little bit of mischief.
What Barkley loves most about being on campus? The people, hands down. Each morning, he trots in excitedly, ready to greet familiar faces and make new friends. He’s known for lounging in the hallway outside his person’s office, giving dramatic “sad eyes” until someone stops to shower him with affection—his favorite tactic. Whether he’s zooming around with his ponytail bouncing or curling up to snuggle someone in need of a little extra love, Barkley has a knack for knowing just what people need. Many staff lovingly refer to him as the unofficial emotional support dog.
He’s got a soft spot for whatever treats Doyle hands out, a ghost toy he carries around like treasure, and a long list of campus pals—Jen Mo, Bre, Tessa, Roosevelt, Travis, and more. Friendly, playful, affectionate, and intuitive, Barkley isn’t just a pet—he’s a vital part of the campus community.
