Phyllis's Dog

The Fluffy Therapist with a Side of Sass

Kimba has been ruling the campus halls since 2021, and come September 4th, this charismatic canine will be celebrating his 5th birthday—likely with snuggles, snacks, and a little dramatic flair.

Kimba lives for connection. His favorite place to be is curled up on the couch during therapy sessions, offering quiet comfort to students with his soft fur and warm presence. He’s a sucker for attention—especially from the kids—and will zoom through hallways or romp around outside just to be part of the action. And yes, he may also sneakily hunt for floor crumbs like it’s his part-time job (we won’t tell if you don’t).

While picky about his treats, Kimba is all about those meat-flavored goodies—and insists they’re delivered with the exact right “OK” tone before he’ll dig in. His go-to toys are tough chews, but let’s be real—his true obsession is being adored.

Kimba prefers people over pups, especially his own students, and while he once played with his friend Marbles (RIP dorm dog bestie), he’s now more into being top dog. Personality-wise? Think confident campus monarch meets misunderstood teen—he’s got attitude, demands affection, and absolutely pouts if he doesn’t get his way. When feeling uncertain, he puts on his "tough guy" persona, but it’s all bark and no bite.

At his core, Kimba is just like many of the students he supports—full of love, layered in emotion, and deeply loyal. If you see him on campus, toss him a meaty treat, compliment his vibe, and don’t forget to hit him with that high-pitched “OK.”
