“It’s really unique.” Patrick paused briefly to collect his thoughts, “I can tell that the staff genuinely cares about our wellbeing.”

Patrick, is a 16 year old boy from Miami, Florida, and originally from South America has spent the last 4 months of his life at Elevations Residential Treatment Center.

For Patrick, coming from South American, American schools can present unique challenges in both the curriculum and also language barriers. However, with the help of the staff and teachers at Elevations, Patrick has been able to achieve more than he thought possible.

“I’ve had some amazing mentors. One of my teachers, Jill Thomas, in particular has been especially helpful. When I have struggled with academic issues, she has been there to build me up.”

Patrick continued, “With her help, I’ve achieved more in the class room than I ever have before, I’ve learned so much from her and the other teachers here.”

At Elevations RTC, the learning doesn’t stop in the classroom. Elevations offers a robust Recreation Program as well. “My favorite part of the Elevations is the Recreation Program mostly because John [Head of Recreation Program] is an amazing guy.”

“With John’s help, I learned to snowboard here. I had never been before in my life, but this weekend will be my 6th time this season!”

Along with providing an excellent outlet for physical expression, the recreation department also helps the students in other ways. For Patrick, learning to snowboard helped teach him self confidence.

“I learned quickly, and now I’m in the advanced group when we go. It’s given me the confidence in myself and also to try new things. Since being here, I’ve been motivated to achieve and develop as a person.”

Development in the classroom and on the slopes has helped to improve Patrick’s outlook on life and his potential for success. If you would like to learn more about how Elevations RTC can help your child, don’t hesitate to give us a call at .
