Recreation Specialist – Everest & Olympus Teams
Sabrina Hardy was born and raised in the panhandle of Florida. She attended Northwest Florida State College on a softball scholarship and later transferred to the University of West Florida where she received a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Recreation, and Resort Management. While in college, she spent a few summers working as a kayak guide and during this time frame she was inspired to seek more opportunities to work in the outdoors.
After graduating with her bachelor’s degree, she took an outdoor educator course with the National Outdoor Leadership School, where she quickly realized the power of vulnerability in nature. Sabrina believes nature is so vulnerable in and of itself that it allows individuals to be more vulnerable with themselves and the people they share these wild spaces with. The summer of 2016 she took a job working with Montana Conservation Corps working on a trail crew to give back to the wild lands she enjoys recreating in. After research and conversations with peers and mentors, she found herself seeking opportunities to work in wilderness therapy. She spent four years working with a wilderness therapy program before transitioning to Elevations RTC’s recreation department. On her days off, you can find Sabrina enjoying time canyoneering, mountain biking, climbing, hiking, fly-fishing, traveling, and snowboarding. Sabrina also spends her time off working on various diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
