Seeing Beyond One’s Self
HELP YOUR CHILD REDISCOVER THE PERSON THEY ARE
As one of the top troubled teen programs, we do service work outside of Elevations. This service work is designed to build self-respect and a helping attitude in our students. Service also helps our students see outside themselves and gain invaluable perspective.
Creating an Atmosphere Where Community Service is Fun
Unlike other troubled teen programs, we encourage a sense of fun on our campus, offering exciting on-campus activities and off-campus service and activities. Teens who enter into our program have been through a lot. We like to lighten the mood with fun team activities and adventurous experiential expeditions off campus such as rafting and snowboarding. The beautiful surroundings of our campus provide ample opportunity for exciting experiential activities.
Through service activities, students broaden their horizons. They get to interact with people from different backgrounds whom they may have never worked with before. These service activities can be an excellent opportunity for personal growth.
Community Service Benefits Both Your Teen & The Community
At least once a quarter we participate in service activities intended to help students see outside themselves, overcome stereotypes, and feel needed. All too often our students are egocentric and lack the understanding of how their decisions and actions impact others.
Our service programming helps them see how they can be meaningful contributors beyond their own “worlds” which can be incredibly rewarding and therapeutic. As one of the top programs for troubled teens, we understand how important these service experiences can be for teens.
By getting involved in the community and participating in meaningful activities, teens may feel more confident in themselves and may even continue community service activities after graduating from Elevations RTC.
