Teen Marijuana Use Can Lead To Depression in the Future

Teens using marijuana is a greater issue now more than ever. Aside from the present issues with using the drug, marijuana use can have long-term negative effects on one’s well-being. The teenage years are a critical developmental period for individuals. These years bring about hormonal changes, greater responsibility, and more temptation that comes with peer pressure. In the moment, teens can negotiate with themselves. It quickly becomes reasonable when they convince themselves that it’s only a one-time thing. But then one becomes two and then three and so on.

One of the biggest problems with teens using marijuana is the lack of knowledge of the effects upon using the drug. As a parent you function as an influencer and a teacher. It is completely acceptable to start this discussion at home and help your teen learn of the consequences of using marijuana.
